Northumberland Ferries travels
between Wood Islands, Prince Edward Island and Caribou,
Nova Scotia from early May to mid-December. The crossing
takes approximately 75 minutes. Directions from the
ferry terminal to Charlottetown: follow Route 1 west
from Wood Islands to Charlottetown which is about
a 50 minute drive, or 61 km (38 miles). For more

Ferry travels between the town of Souris, Prince
Edward Island and les Iles de la Madeleine, Quebec
from early April to the end of January. The crossing
takes about 5 hours. Directions from the ferry terminal
to Charlottetown: follow Route 2 west from Souris
to Charlottetown which is about a 75 minute drive,

The
Confederation Bridge, a globally recognized engineering
marvel, spans the Northumberland Strait between the
town of Borden-Carleton, Prince Edward Island and
Cape Jourimaine, New Brunswick. The 12.9 km (9 mile)
bridge is one of the longest continuous marine span
bridges in the world providing safe, reliable access
to our Island and the rest of the country. The crossing
takes approximately 10 minutes. Directions from the
bridge to Charlottetown: follow Route 1 east from
Borden-Carleton to Charlottetown which is approximately
a 45 minute drive, or 56 km (35 miles).

Airport Transportation
You are responsible for your own travel arrangements upon arrival and departure to and from the Charlottetown airport and your place of accommodation. Taxis and rented cars are readily accessible from the airport and hotels. Taxi fares from the airport to downtown Charlottetown are in the $ 20 Cdn range. If you plan to rent a car, it is recommended that you do so in advance of your arrival. Opening Reception
The Conference Opening Reception is being held at Peakes Quay Restaurant, located directly behind the Delta Prince Edward Hotel overlooking the Marina. An escorted group walk featuring two (2) representatives from the Fathers of Confederation will depart the Delta Prince Edward at 5:00pm, Sunday, July 13th from the lobby of the Delta Prince Edward Hotel.
Prince Edward Island Experiential Tours
A variety of optional Prince Edward Island experiential tours are being offered to all conference delegates and will depart from the front entrance of the Delta Prince Edward Hotel on Wednesday, July 16th at 12:30pm. Tour options can be viewed, selected and paid for at the tour desk located within the conference registration area in the lobby of the Delta Prince Edward Hotel.
Seaside Beach Party Banquet
Group bus transportation round trip is being provided for conference delegates for the Seaside Beach Party Banquet Thursday, July 17th. Buses will depart the Delta Prince Edward Hotel at 5:30pm and the University of Prince Edward Island at 5:40pm. Estimated return time for buses arriving in Charlottetown is 10:30pm.
